Understanding and Application of Meltblown Non-woven Cloth

Polypropylene is the main raw material for meltblown non-woven cloth, with fiber diameters reaching 1 to 5 microns. With many pores and a rich structure, it has good wrinkle resistance. The unique Moses structure of the ultra-fine fibers increases the number and surface area of fibers per unit area, giving meltblown non-woven cloth filtering, shielding, thermal insulation, and oil absorption properties. It can be used for air and liquid filtration materials, isolation materials, absorbent materials, mask materials, thermal insulation materials, oil-absorbing materials, and cleaning cloths, etc.


Introduction and characteristics of meltblown non-woven cloth


Meltblown non-woven cloth are a kind of non-woven fabric product. The raw material used is mostly polypropylene (PP material) pellets. The process of producing meltblown non-woven cloth is as follows: polymer feeding, melt extrusion, fiber formation, fiber cooling, web formation, and then reinforcement to form fabric. It is called a fabric because of its appearance and some properties similar to fabrics. Meltblown non-woven cloth are generally used in filtering materials, medical materials, clothing materials, battery diaphragm materials, wiping materials, and more. In addition, meltblown non-woven cloth are mainly used in spray painting and chemical industries. Masks made from melt-blown non-woven cloth are used mainly to filter out sub-micron particles such as dust, microbes, and haze, making it the "heart" of the mask.


Meltblown non-woven cloth has the following characteristics: the fiber web of the melt-blown fabric is composed of fine, short fibers; the web of the melt-blown non-woven fabric is uniform, and the texture is particularly soft; the filtration performance and liquid absorption properties of this meltblown non-woven fabric are relatively good.


Applications of melt-blown non-woven cloth


Filtering materials


Filtration is a separation process, and the physical properties of porosity and small holes determine the good solid barrier and filtration performance, respectively. If there is also polar processing to increase the static electricity performance, the filtration effect can be increased. The above characteristics of meltblown non-woven cloth make them widely used in medical masks, indoor air conditioning filter materials, filter materials for filters, and more.


Medical and health materials


The raw material of meltblown non-woven cloth is PP environmentally friendly materials, so its environmental sanitation performance also makes it suitable for use in medical products, such as medical masks, surgical gowns, hats, and more.
